I learned a lot in the past few months, weeks and even 2 days---
#1: Heard this from 3 different people this weekend, "Until the guy upstairs says it's her time to go she's not going anywhere". I'm glad for this. My sister and I both did received feelings that Mom would not be here much longer. After our thoughts were shared with each other one hospice lady who saw my Mom 1 or 2 times said my Mom had 3 weeks and the hospice lady that sees my Mom every week said she has more months to go still....
I told my Mom about our thoughts and my Mom's response was pretty much, "Well, yeah, I probably won't get to travel to Grandma's (her Mom's) for Thanksgiving this year" end of story. :)
#2 Whether it was from the Lord or not, we don't know, but that doesn't matter now. I think she'll be here awhile, if not cured, which is what we hope for every day and the Lord knows our desires.
Our parents bought burial plots this weekend. Mom is going to order her a Temple dress to be buried in. We went over funeral plans, a little more formal than ever--but I don't know if we still accomplished the goal of everything being done to enjoy our months or years together. We hope we don't even have to go through with the plans that were made. Mom, we would still like you to write out all the details of *who does what so there is no question. We'll be prepared if the need comes......but,
Mom, we want you here. We're going to fight to keep you here. We want you to see our kids get baptized, graduate from high school, go on missions, see them marry in the Temple. You said, "We're not exempt from trials like this even though there is no cancer in my family". I say, "We're not exempt from receiving miracles and blessings that seem rare to our little mortal minds. Miracles happen every day".
