California Trip!!!

Karen and Russ invited all of their Grandkids to go to Disneyland, California Adventure, Sea World and the Beach with them. The parents were happy they were allowed to come, too. :) We are so thankful for our spouses' employers for being so generous in letting our husbands off work so they could come with us. We left October 7th and returned late October 13, 2012. We had a blast!

 We went to Newport Beach on Thursday. It rained that morning so we went to the Discovery Center first. We rented a surrey bicycle and pedaled around a bit. The Ocean was too cold to get in.

 We went to the Mormon Battallion Historic Site in San Diego after Sea World Tuesday. WELL WORTH the time!

 Sea World "Journey to Atlantis" Ride (a total blast, got soaked and road it 3 times) and Sesame Street Bay of Play picture of Evelyn and Rachel.

 

My Mom didn't feel well on Weds. She closed her eyes a portion of the day and held grandkids in the wheel chair.

We didn't want the fun to end. I personally, teared up many times through the first 2 days (on Peter Pan I cried through the whole ride being glad it was dark in there and watching Shamu at Sea World I blamed my tears on the sun so my family wouldn't know I was crying). It was out of joy of having my kids see and do the things we did and knowing the reason we were all there was because of my Mom's condition. It was bitter-sweet. I'm sure the memories and tears will return the next time we do, and my Mom will be in our thoughts and hearts.
